Is the product actually available?

If the product you are looking at is listed as ‘Book’ and in Gold, then yes it is 'live availability' and 'instantly confirmed'.

With the vast amount of systems, channel managers and booking engines across the travel and tourism industry, it is not always possible to display live availability. If the product is listed as ‘Request’ then our team will do everything in their power to ensure it is confirmed. Once confirmations for 'on request’ products come back (24 - 48 hours) your payment will be processed straightaway and a booking confirmation is sent out via email to you. Until you received a confirmation of your booking, it is on a request basis only - This will be clearly detailed in any communications from us.

If there are any variations to the product or package you’ve requested, one of our team will contact you directly to discuss, prior to taking payment.

What if I don't hear from you after I have made a booking?

Our system will automatically provide you with an email confirmation of your booking or product request. If you have not received this, please contact us ASAP. Most of the time it’s just a typo with the email address we were provided and can fix that up easy. It’s also worth while to please check your junk mail folder in case it ends up there. When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged immediately if the product or package you are booking has live availability and instant confirmation. If we are unable to confirm your booking as quoted in the cart, you will not be charged immediately.

For products 'on request', an operator will receive a reservation email requesting them to confirm the booking. Once the booking is confirmed you will receive notification. Discover Melbourne will then process your payment once it’s confirmed through our secure gateway payment provider - Windcave.

Do you charge Merchant Fees?

Due to being a small business we pass on the Merchant Fees on all deposits and final payments through our website. This is 1% for all Credit Card payments.

What if I have special requests?

The booking form gives you the opportunity to let us know any of your special requests and all requests are passed onto the product provider. Please be aware that these requests can not be guaranteed, however our partners will do their best to accommodate these where possible.

What does my itinerary include?

All inclusions are outlined in your itinerary.

For example, unless breakfast is specifically mentioned, the booking is for room only and unless lunch is specifically mentioned in your tour, lunch is not included.

Please note that our Regional Packages & Specials Deals prices promoted on our website often include items such as breakfasts, dining vouchers or added extras. These items need to be selected as a Regional Package or Special Deal when adding to your itinerary to have these included.

The rule to remember is: If it's listed on your Quote, it's included in your package.

Items such as transfers and tours listed on specials may not be complimentary. They form part of the total package price.

Do I need an international drivers license to hire a car?

All drivers must hold a current, non-probationary, full license from their country of residence, or an international driver's permit. If your license is not in English, this must be accompanied by an official English translation of the license. Licenses must also be accompanied by a passport and credit card.

What will the weather be like?

In Melbourne, we know our weather can be 4 seasons in one day but the weather can be variable no matter where and when you travel in Australia.

Being a vast country, Australia's climate varies from wet and tropical, dry and hot to cold and snowy depending on where you are and the time of year. General rule of thumb, the further north you go, the hotter it gets with a definite 'wet' season.

Having an understanding of what to expect can give you a good guide to average temperatures around Australia. We strongly recommend you regularly check the climate to be prepared for the time of year. We also recommend you purchase Travel Insurance, just in case inclement weather impacts your travel plans.

Temperature Conversion:

For visitors more accustomed to using Fahrenheit for temperatures than Celsius, the simplest way to work it out is to double the Celsius temperature and add 32.
eg. 20 degrees Celsius = (2x20)+32 = 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
